Modern Scandinavian furniture. The majority of Poles do not yet know what the Scandinavian style is associated with. And although it is becoming an increasingly popular method of interior design, we often confuse it with a modern, or even classic style.
Scandinavian style. The Scandinavian style is very favorable when it comes to the geographical location of Poland. The light in the winter and autumn months is similar to us in the Scandinavian countries. We have fewer sunny days than in southern Europe, and therefore it is advisable to illuminate the living quarters. That is why the Scandinavian style is characterized by, among other things, bright and relatively limited colors. The most commonly used colors are white, shades of gray, heather, blue and ecru. The Scandinavian style also features a minimalist design as well as cleanliness and lightness of forms. Furniture and all home furnishings should be made of natural materials such as wood, stone, wicker, cotton, wool, linen, jute. A characteristic feature is also the functionality of the solutions ensuring maximum comfort, the presence of handicraft elements, as well as solutions respecting the care for the natural environment, harmony and freshness, and thoughtful eclecticism, which is an expression of the combination of tradition and modernity. A very important element of furnishing and maintaining Scandinavian-style rooms is, of course, the selection of the right furniture.
Scandinavian style furniture
The variety of furniture in Scandinavian style is huge. They are primarily characterized by durability. Made of natural materials, they do not lose their qualities despite the passage of years and retain their original factory properties for a very long time. We can even treat a lot of furniture here as a profitable investment for years. Scandinavian-style upholstered furniture is particularly popular. Their greatest advantage is the variety. The upholstery fabric is available in any color, which we can often combine to match the look of the furniture to the planned interior design. They are also durable and resistant to the passage of time. High-quality fabrics do not rub, which allows for multiple use of this type of furniture. This is very important, especially when we are talking about furniture standing in the living room, and therefore intensively used. Additionally, upholstered furniture is very easy to clean. In the event of any possible dirt, we do not have to use the services of a specialized company or agree to aesthetic stains. In most cases, a wet cloth and a small amount of mild detergent are enough to get rid of unsightly stains. Ultimately, Scandinavian style furniture must also be functional, which is characteristic of the whole style. We should also remember that this style requires the use of a whole range of accessories that give the rooms character and coziness. We can freely use, among others, pillows, platters, decorative fruit plates, vases, flower pots, carpets and rugs, blankets, rugs or ordinary bedspreads.
